SERVE for the DOGS

Senior Hearts Rescue & Renewal is seeking working board members who can excel in our fast paced growth environment, while building processes for the advancement of our mission. 


Ideal board members will have an entrepreneurial spirit, organizational skills, ability to communicate both written and verbally to corporate decision makers and private individuals, ability to work toward seeking consensus on group decisions, ability to adhere to board decisions and protocol, affinity for cultivating relationships, and desire to grow the infrastructure of the organization by development of programs and building resources. Members must understand the importance of funds development and be active fundraising participants.


Serving on our working board is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about saving the lives of senior dogs and has a track record of leadership and accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. Prior history of serving on a board is desirable.

Board Treasurer

  • Manage the Financial Health of the Organization
  • Manage and Safeguard Funds
  • Create and Monitor Budgets
  • Maintain All Bank Accounts and Credit Cards 
  • Manage All Financial Transactions
  • Manage All Reimbursements
  • Manage Company Assets
  • Manage Donated Goods and Services
  • Maintain Financial Records
  • Oversee External and Internal Bookkeepers, Tax Preparers, and Accountants
  • Manage Filings for Legal, Financial, and Charitable Reportings
  • Prepare SHRR’s Financial Statements and Reports
  • Meet with Donors
  • Develop and Execute Plans for Memorial and Legacy Donations.
  • Adhere to Board Member Expectations


Qualifications

  • Motivated self-starter with proven experience in developing processes and building growth in a for-profit startup or a young nonprofit organization.
  • QuickBooks experience required.
  • Excel and Google Sheets experience required.
  • Finance experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Attention to detail and accountability in completing tasks.
  • Ability to proactively lead, work independently and complete tasks without supervision
  • Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance people.
  • Estimated 25 hours/month for financial PLUS hours for other board duties per Board Member Expectations
